Junior League of St. Paul Helps Launch our She Builds Program

We are excited to share that we have launched a She Builds Program focused on training, engaging, and empowering women as volunteers!  On Saturday October 16th, we hosted five members of the St. Paul Junior League, Logan Stokes, Dave Murray and Karl Drutowski, who helped a homeowner named Roxanne by building a handrail on her front stairs.  Dave and Karl provided training to the group, which focused on Personal Protective Equipment usage, site safety, and use of chop saw, circular saw, screw gun, driver gun, hammer drill, belt sander and angle grinder.  All participants got to operate the power tools, perform practice cuts, and complete production cuts.  They also were able to experience post hole digging and Kwikcrete mixing and application.  They learned the process steps and measurements involved in building a railing and meeting code.  We are grateful to everyone who came together to help launch this program and provide Roxanne a handrail so she can safely go up and down her exterior stairs this winter!

Owens Corning donated the materials for the project and Capital Construction donated the labor. Thank you to Owens Corning and Capital Construction for partnering with us to help Mac Arthur.
